Independence Health System offers experiential training supported by supervision, didactics, and seminars. Interns spend 40 hours per week at their sites, for a total of 2000 hours. Of those 2000 hours, at least 500 hours will be direct service. In addition to direct service, interns attend supervision, staff meetings, didactics/seminars, and have time to complete paperwork/documentation. Each internship site provides information on the specific training experiences they offer. Most of the training seminars and didactics are offered on the same day of the week so all interns can attend and collaborate. This collaborative training time also includes time for peer support between interns.
